Introduction “Fast and Easy”. This is the phrase usually uttered when people can see the power of technology and its miracles on how it changed their lives. In the present era, mass evolution of technology arises. From a simple typewriter to a complex and powerful computer, technology is indeed evolving. This phenomenon helps the people in their daily lives. It makes it easy for them to live and make a living with the help of the technology. It invites new opportunities, new discoveries, answers the problems in the past and make better development for the future.
The integration of computer into student services has made successful. Because of it, the implementing of the student services for students has become faster than before. Instead of using paper and pen for processes and transaction, office personnel just have to type and click commands into her computer. Some of the automated systems that were integrated in the student services have the capability of forecasting or determining whether a student is in need for guidance. The personnel can check and track the status of every student.
Top management can also make immediate decisions based on the results of the system thus, updates and checking the status of every student is faster. In this system the personnel can automatically print out the total statistics of each service so they can determine what could be the common problems of their students and what are those services needed for the school issues especially to Health Services. The Student Services Information System helps the personnel by managing and monitoring every student in the institution. With this system students with sickness is monitored and data for student’s medical status can be updated.
Student Services Information System is important because this system can make the operations of the service more efficient and it can help provide good quality of students. In a student services, our system is a great help in the field of students welfare and development. As Bill Gates quoted, “The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency. In response to this statement, the researchers will conduct a study and build a system that will automate the present manual student services of the school to make the operation more efficient. Background of the study Student services are important to every student in the school because the school is the second home where everyone can find safety and comfort. However, this service is remained as old as the age of the school, for the processing of transactions is manually done, where the personnel depend on a lot of paper for records and this service has lost its function as time passes by.
Given this system, the researcher will be conducting studies and research for development of this system on making it convenient and more functional. The primary mission of the researchers is to provide services to students that support and enhance their educational experience at Saint Michael College of Caraga. To an increasing extent, the Division relies on computer networks and electronic information resources to manage the large amount of information necessary to help students. Review of Related Literature
Student Services Information System, this proposal also tells us how automation and computer software greatly accelerate human technological processes and advancement. All the advantage in the system as module flow and process should be improves and enhance from the system. This section presents the writing of different personalities conducted by the proponents during their research, which have relevant to the present study. It involves ideas of the creator and developer of the researched system that may serve as the basis for sorting out and solving some problems that may be encountered in the development of the proposed study.
The review of the literature for this study focuses on procedures on how computerize guidance services affects the function of it to the school. The History of School Counseling, Jessie B. Davis(2009) school counseling around the world varies greatly based on how different countries and local communities have chosen to provide academic, career, college readiness, and personal/social skills and competencies to K-12 children and their families based on economic and social capital resources and public versus private educational settings in what is now called a school counseling program.
Holoein (2006) says that “almost everyone in developed nations of the world is at least partially aware of the influential role played by the computer today”. User is implemented to every type of organization in order to achieve computer advantage. O’Brien (2005) states that the management of rapidly changing technology is important to any organization. Information technology changes swiftly and dramatically and is expected to continue into the future. Developments will continue to have a major impact on the operations, costs, and management work and computerization of many organizations.

Theoretical and Conceptual Framework Kroenke, D M. (2008) Information systems (IS) is the study of complementary networks of hardware and software that people and organizations use to collect, filter, process, create, and distribute data. The study bridges business and computer science using the theoretical foundations of information and computation to study various business models and related algorithmic processes within a computer science discipline.
Computer Information System(s) (CIS) is a field studying computers and algorithmic processes, including their principles, their software and hardware designs, their applications, and their impact on society while IS emphasizes functionality over design. Lucas, Christopher J. (March 2006) Student affairs is the department or division of services and support for students at institutions of higher education to enhance student growth and development in the United States and abroad. Outside the United States these services or departments are sometimes called “student support” or “Student Services”.
People who work in this field are also known as Student Affairs practitioners or Student Affairs professionals. These Student Affairs practitioners work provide services and support for students at institutions of higher education. A Student Affairs Department may vary based on the size, type, and location of an institution. These departments are often led by a Vice President or Vice Chancellor who then reports directly to the President/Chancellor of the institution. Statement of the Problem
The purpose of this study is to develop the student services from manual to automated processes which can be useful especially to the guidance services, health services and to the prefect discipline. The purpose of the study is to answer the following questions: 1. What common problems students have that affects their studies? 2. What common sickness and diseases students suffer during school days? 3. How the school handle students regarding their common issues and health problems? 4. What action they have taken for solving those issues? 5. Significance of the Study
The Student Services Information System the researchers propose will be of great significance to the following persons mentioned. The Administration. The proposed system will make their job more efficient and it will provide reports with less paper works and all they have to do is monitor student services by logging in to the system. The Guidance Department. The proposed system will ease their difficulties as the system can automatically monitor and manage students. The School Physician. The proposed system will make their records safely kept.
After every session and check-ups they make, they can directly record the information or any health history of any student they checked medically. And for future use they can check anytime the health history of the student if there will be more complication. The Dentist. They have the same features with the school physician. They can also record data easily and they can also check every data of every student easily. The Prefect of Discipline. The proposed system will enable the Prefect of Discipline to monitor and update every student of the campus specially those students with records to the guidance department.
The Future Researchers. The proposed system will benefit the future researchers by making this as their guide or as their future reference in conducting similar studies. Scope and Limitations of the Study The study focuses on the automation of the current manual student services. The scope of the program is from the student affair focusing on the three major parts of student services, namely: the guidance services, the health services and the prefect of discipline. The limitation of the system is only authorize person is allowed to access the system.
